A statement signed by 1340 social and political activists in condemning the spreading rumours by the media against Shirin Ebadi

A statement signed by 1340 social and political activists in condemning the spreading rumours by the media against Shirin Ebadi, in conjunction with the crisis in the foreign policy of the government and deeper social and economical crisis in Iran, because of the incorrect and illegal actions of the government the pressure on human rights activists has increased. We also witness that Shirin Ebadi the general secretary of the human rights association and the winner of the noble prize and the founding member of the national peace council and one of the countries prominent human rights activist has been under pressure and verbal attacks.

The government’s media in particular the Keyhan and the official IRNA news agency have been spreading rumours and lies against Shirin Ebadi. What is ironic is the part taking of the official news agency which tries its out most in systematically attacking Shirin Ebadi.
