Iranian Supreme court has approved "stoning" for a woman
Iranian Supreme court has approved the verdict issued by a court of Fars province which has sentenced a woman to death by stoning!
The woman is identified as Afsaneh R, and is sentenced to death for murdering her husband as well as death by stoning for adultry. A man identified as Reza D.is sentenced to 15 years in prison for assistance in the murder and 100 lashes for extramarital relationship with Afsaneh.
The sentence was approved by the Iranian supreme court on the same day as the spokesman for Iran’s judiciary announced that execution by stoning will be suspended.
Fatemeh Haghighat Pajouh was executed
According to the Iranian state media 10 people ,Nine men and one woman (Fatemeh Haghighat Pajouh), were hanged in the Evin prison of Tehran on November 26,2008 all convicted of murder.
The woman, Fatemeh Haghighat Pajouh, was convicted of murdering his husband who tried to rape her 14 years old daughter from a previous marriage.
The stay of execution granted to Fatemeh Haghighat-Pajouh two times before.
she was executed just a day after the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women "
