Thursday 11 November 2010, by admin

Feminist School: Today, 11 Nov. 2010, Nasrin Sotoudeh’s husband, brother and sister were allowed to visit her for 10 minutes in Evin Prison.
This was the first time Reza Khandan, Nasrin’s husband, could visit her after ten weeks. He told Feminist School, ‘Nasrin informed us that she has ended her dry hunger strike as a courtesy to her friends’ request, however, she will keep her hunger strike for as long as the officials refuse her legal demands.

‘My wife is still in hunger strike and after nine days she is only drinking water following the requests from her lawyers and friends’, he added.
Mrs Sotoudeh mentioned in the visit that ‘three different judiciary officials promised my release but none of them kept their promise. So I will continue my strike.’

Mr Khandan said, ‘Nasrin’s face was so gaunt I didn’t recognize her. She weighed just 57kg before imprisonment and has dropped 13kilos in ten weeks. She went under IV therapy twice during this time.’

Nasrin Sotoudeh, defense lawyer and women’s right activist, was detained on 4 Sept. 2010 and started her hunger strike on 25 Sept. 2010, nine days of which was dry hunger strike.
