The absolute judgment is out on Fatemeh Masjedi & Maryam Bidgoli:6 months of imprisonment and cash retribution
Friday 24 December 2010, by
Feminist School: Fatemeh Masjedi and Maryam Bidgoli, women’s movement activist from Qom have the final judgment on their appeal. 6 months of imprisonment and $200 .
The judgment was reached because of the time already spent in prison so a reduction to 6month but the court did not revert on payment. The women’s movement activists were both arrested on May 2010 by the security forces they were released on bail , the court passed judgment on both to have propagated against the state to favour the feminist group (Campaign ) . The court appeal which was in Qom issued the final sentence, it was hoped that the court of appeal would clear all charges but sadly both activists still received a punishment.
Up to now all the Campaign activists have been arrested and attended courts and courts of appeal and none of the final sentences has been implemented, but whilst for these two activists, which is surprising as the two activists were concentrating only on women’s Islamic issues.
