Imminent Imprisonment of Fatemeh Masjedi and Maryam Bidgoli within Next Two Days

Tuesday 28 December 2010, by admin

Feminist School :Fatemeh Masjedi and Maryam Bidgoli, women’s movement activist from Qom are informed by their lawyers that their prison sentence might be implemented in two days, they are both sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment and $200 . The women’s movement activists were both arrested on May 2010 by the security forces and later they were released on bail , the court passed judgment on both to have propagated against the state to favour the feminist group (Campaign ) . The court of appeal which was in Qom issued the final sentence, it was hoped that the court of appeal would clear all charges but sadly both activists still received a punishment.

Up to now all the Campaign activists have been arrested and attended courts and courts of appeal and none of the final sentences has been implemented, but whilst for these two activists, which is surprising as the two activists were concentrating only on women’s Islamic issues.
