Feministschool: The wonderful exposition „Additional Years – New Age for elder women“ in Women’s Museum in Fürth/Germany had ist finissage on the last week-end of September.
During two summers this exposition gave place to most interesting meetings and very intense discussions about the new “time†women gaun, while reaching senior level and getting older froom decennium to decennium. Average age accomplished nowadays is 84 years for women and 78 years for men (in Germany).
Feminist school wrote about the “painted chairs†painted this summer by seniors. These chairs have been sold in a sort of auction last week-end to enable the Museum’s women to pay the first needs for the new exposition in 2015 (inauguration will be on 8th of May 2015- see detaiuls later).
Find some photos which show the action of selling with Ute Schätzlein and Bertrun Jeitner-Hartmann, adding always some little give-aways, so that finally all chairs were sold. And the result was 1000 Euros for the Museum.
Besides good weather, good mood and good food in and outside of the museum there was a photo show “Reading in old faces†from old women all over the world by the genious photographer Laurence Grangien. She also showed picturesof an old peoples home in Kathmandu – and then shocked the visitors with her newest photos from the Kurdish-irakian border. (These shots will also be presented beginning of October at the Südpunkt, meetingpoint of the City of Nürnberg.)
During coming winter the Women of One world of the Museum will create their new exposition about 100 years of peace conference for Women, with the amusing title: War sockets and piece/peacemakers, refering to the women who were knitting socks for their heroes in world war number one, to protect them against cold Russian winter. We will inform you about this - in spite of amusing title – very serious years of life for women all over the world as soon aas details are known.
